This nailer board has to be fastened in a permanent and waterproof manner. The deck nailer board is the PT (Pressure Treated) wood 2×10 or 2×12 (or whatever size) continuous board up against the main house to which the deck joists are connected. One of them, is: you need to have a tall vertical flashing between the rough framing structure of the house (or building) and the deck nailer board. There are 2 water penetration situations that must be solved for a successful deck flashing detail.
